MC bikers and Submariners have a lot in common. Both lifestyles require a silence to any one not in their club or boat. They only accept friendship based on proven actions of others in their group. They each have personal differences within their group, but will defend to the end their unity. They are very slow to allow outsiders to join them even in a probationary status. Full membership in the unit requires many months or longer of proven ability and brotherhood bonding. Each requires total loyalty to the given mission of their unit. Members of each have a sense of humor that borders on the edge of sanity. Both are deadly serious at work and play way beyound the rules of normal society. Members of each depend upon those in the membership for their safety and well being. Having shared the lifestyles and brotherhood of both in the course of 50 years, I am retired from both. Riding solo with my road partner and having only good memories of two brotherhoods that will follow me the rest of my life.
