Las Vegas BikeFest & Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation

  • Las Vegas BikeFest Teams Up With Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation for the 12th Year

LAS VEGAS, August 25, 2016 - For the 12th year in a row, Las Vegas BikeFest is teaming up with Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation at this year's rally.

Las Vegas BikeFest will have three Poker Walks and two Poker Runs and at all five of these events, attendees have the opportunity to purchase "Mulligans". A Mulligan allows a player to receive an additional card at the last stop in hopes it will increase their chances of a winning hand. All the proceeds that are raised from the "Mulligan" sales are donated to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Along with the "Mulligan" donations, Las Vegas BikeFest also provides a free booth to Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation so attendees of the rally can find out more information about the organization and how they can help.

"We are very happy to have Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation involved with us again for this year's rally. It means a lot to us to partner up with a local non-profit whose goal is to improve the quality of life for critically ill children and their families living in our community. It's amazing the connection bikers have withhelping out ill children and stepping up to the plate when it counts", says Mindi Cherry, Event Manager.

"NCCF and the children we serve are so very fortunate to be selected by Las Vegas BikeFest every year to benefit from their generosity as they touch the lives of so many critically ill children living in our community," said Jeff Gordon, NCCF President and CEO.

Established in 1993, the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization offering over 45 programs and services including a variety of educational services, financial support and counseling for critically-ill children and their families living in Southern Nevada. The foundation's mission is to work side by side with the medical community to provide social, emotional, educational, financial and psychological support services and programs to families of ALL children diagnosed with a life threatening or critical illness such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, sickle cell, hemophilia, renal disorders and other immunologic diseases as well as to adults touched by cancer.
Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF) is a local organization and not affiliated with any national organization and therefore relies on support from the Southern Nevada community. 100% of the funds raised and donated from BikeFest will support the emergency financial needs of newly diagnosed children and their families including funds for food, basic living needs, and transportation to and from doctor appointments.
