CycleFish Business Newsletter - April 2010

  • To All CycleFish Business Users,

Once again we would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of the CycleFish community.  And we want to especially thank those of you who have upgraded your business accounts, and/or purchased advertising on our site.  In addition to receiving the additional advertising, you are helping to support our community, and our members certainly appreciate it.

Those of you who visit the site regularly already know that our site is continuing to grow in leaps and bounds as we get into this year's riding and rally season.  In the past 30 days our visitors, new member signups, and activity are all double what they were in our biggest month in 2009, and we project that those numbers will just continue to grow.

Of course with this growth, the advertising space here on CycleFish will become more and more valuable.  So we are letting you know there will be increases in cost for both the Business Profile upgrades, and Advertising Packages in the very near future.  This is not a sales pitch, we don't play that way.  This is just us letting our valued business members know that they can still take advantage of some of the lowest cost advertising on the internet for such a targeted audience.  Any business that upgrades their profile, or purchases advertising on our site will be guaranteed those rates for at least one year (with continuous renewal).  And of course those of you who are already in a program get the same locked in rates you are currently at.

Tips on Promoting Your Business on CycleFish...

In addition to upgrading your account, or buying banner ads on CycleFish, there are a number of things you can do to optimize your presence on CycleFish...

    • Be an active member - CycleFish is a community of bikers and motorcyclists.  Being a part of the community gives the users the feeling they are doing business with someone they know.  We recommend you log into your account at least once a week and participate in discussions, of course answer messages from other users, and update your profile and photo albums.  Let our users get to know you.
    • If you can, offer a discount to CycleFish members.  You can do this by posting it in the comments on your profile, or if you have upgraded your account, start a forum post in the CycleFish Businesses Talk section, and offer a discount there.

    • Contribute information on topics you specialize in.  Ex. If you sell helmets, do a blog on how to properly fit a helmet.  You get the idea.

    • Help Grow the CycleFish Community.  As our community continues to grow, so do the benefits for all CycleFish Business Members.  So if you all work together to help grow the community, you all benefit.  There are many ways you can help to grow our community, a few examples would be including a link to CycleFish on your website, passing out CycleFish cards at your place of business, or even hanging a banner at your place of business.   Just contact us and we will get you anything you need. Please be sure you check the Business Guidelines before posting to make sure you are not in violation of any of the rules.

    Housekeeping

We just need to touch on a few housekeeping items.  Each of you should have received a welcome message with a link to our Guidelines for Business Users.  If you didn't, or have never read them, we ask you take a minute to do so.  For the most part the majority of our business users follow all the rules and are valued members here on CycleFish.  However there are just a few who have still not met all of the Guidelines, or operate outside the rules for a business user.  The two items that we really need you to look at are...

    • If you have not done so already, we require that ALL businesses have a profile image to keep our business listing page consistent and professional looking.  The image can be a logo, a product, a photo of your business, or just about anything that helps depict what your business is about.

    • List your business ONLY in the categories that apply to your business.  And please don't push the line.  If you are a bar or shop that sells one t-shirt with your logo, you do not belong in the apparel category.  The category "Other" is ONLY for those business that do not fit into one of the categories, so if your business fits a category, it should not be in other.

We want our site to be very easy for our users to navigate, and quickly find what they are looking for.  They don't want to see every business in every category, and neither do we.

If you need any help updating your profile, just let us know, we are glad to help.

Again, thank you for all for being a part of the CycleFish community, and we look forward to helping you grow your business.

    Regards,

Lucky and the Entire CycleFish Team
