Dealing with roadrage

  •  What is going on these days? I keep reading about more and more riders becoming involved in tangles with cagers.
Todays incident was a video posted of a rider being threatened w/ a gun by a guy w/pass in a pu Truck. Apparently from what I seen it looked like the pu driver was upset about the riders traffic skills. And rolled down his window & flipped off the riders, who then pulled up alongside the truck pass side. I don't know who is more idiotic the guy pulling a gun, or the rider with the GO-Pro cam on his helmet, pulling up to the pass side window. At that point the driver draws his gun n starts waving it around n pointing it at the rider who stood his ground.Fortunately no one was hurt, yet I have to question both parties sanity.

Rule #1 When riding a motorcycle never involve yourself in any sort of confrontation on the road, your greatest strenbth lies in your ability to avoid all potential disasters natural and man made, well in advance of them being a true threat to your integrity and riding pleasure.

One time riding on a weekend to a friends house maybe 30 miles away, I encountered a driver who apparently took issue with me splitting lanes.Perhaps they were upset I passed them stopped in traffic? As I pulled away from the light I saw them come up weaving in traffic, racing to catch up with me I suppose,as they drew even with me I could clearly see the drivers look of anger and him waving what appeared to be a gun. At that point I gunned it and came up to the next light where I left them behind stuck again in traffic. At no point in this whole instance did I provoke these guys, they simply focused on me for some reason their anger at being stuck I guess. Here in California we can split lanes legally and I see no problem with doing it in a safe & sane manner. In over 20 years of riding I have only encoutered one incident where someone had been injured while attempting it.

Stay Safe & Enjoy The Ride !!!
