Leather Pants and Chaps for the Lady Biker

  • Born out of practicality, leather chaps date back as far as when men and women first pulled themselves up on to the back of a horse. When the mechanized era arrived at the turn of the 20th century, the horse was largely replaced cars and motorcycle however, leather chaps remained the same. Nearly another 100 years passed by and while, on the whole, men’s leather chaps remain fairly unchanged, lady biker chaps went through a bit of a transformation.

Today’s lady biker is not only independent and capable of standing on her own in the once all male world of bikers, she is also able to look good doing so, if she so chooses, and what better way to do so than to turn a riding necessity into a biker fashion. Just as was the case with the early cowgirl, today’s lady biker is more than aware of the male attraction to the look of a women and a well fitting pair of leather chaps. Add to those well fitted chaps a bit of fringe, decorative lacing and maybe even a little bling and now those leather chaps are making a serious fashion statement!

And we cannot forget about leather pants, they too have been around since the days of women riding horses’ sidesaddle and have also change little over the years. Not every lady biker can wear leather pants but for those that choose to, they look simply incredible. Unlike the adornments that are added to leather chaps to bring them extra fashion appeal, leather pants remain simple in form and have to stand on their own merit.   While some leather pants may be spiced up with lace-up legs, there is little else that gives them their sexy look other than a long pair of lady biker legs and a firm round rump.

The humble origins of leather chaps and pants cannot be denied nor can the desire of the average lady biker to look good, as is clearly evident in how leather chaps and pants have evolved from a practical garment into fashion apparel.
