His Mysterious Ways....

  •  Peg Moore

I stopped at the carry-out on the way home from ministry. It's been a beautiful day, and I didn't want to rush home. When I got my drink and walked to the register, I noticed an elderly man, with a fistful of lottery tickets. He was aggravated, because apparently the lottery machine had just broken down, and was offline. I asked if we could still buy them, and the answer was no. K' sera... No big deal. Made a comment about "it is, what it is"... Paid for my drink, and turned to go, when the "old guy" says..."You a Veteran BIKER"? I says, well, Yes Sir, I am a Veteran BIKER, just not a veteran. I asked if he was, and it was ON! Long story short, this guy had to be close to 90, but he regaled me with stories from the WWII, and the fact, that he owned the first Harley ever sold, in Jacksonville, FL. WOWOWOWOW!!!! I'm pretty sure, this lovely man, lives in an elder care facility, just around the corner from my house (ATM). I have thought hard about just going there on the weekends, and getting to know all the Veterans. They sacrificed SO MUCH for us all, and encouraged their children and grandchildren into service. I think the "Greatest Generation" is due some love. Before, there aren't any, left to thank...
