Message:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Gen. 1:1-3

The new year brings new beginnings. Last year has come and gone, now it’s time to look forward to what God has in store for our new year. Just as in the beginning of the new world our new year is blank. God has created this new year and has a plan for you in it. His Spirit is moving and active in the formation of our lives and what is to come this year. While the future year may look bright to most of us it is dark for some. It is filled with unknowing, fear, anxiousness, wondering what is going to happen next. There is a darkness that is part of the coming year. But, there doesn’t have to be. God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. God provided for us the Light of the World — Jesus! We just finished celebrating His birth and in a few short months we will celebrate His triumph over death that brings us eternal life. He wants to be our light in the darkness. If He isn’t your light yet there’s no reason to continue to walk in darkness. Just ask Him to be your light and come out of the dark.
