Old Skool Cycle Werks – Aftermarket accessories designed to resemble classic American automobiles from '40s and '50s
Old Skool Cycle Werks designs innovative one-piece bolt-on body kits – coined the PhatBack™ – that give your bike a custom look for an affordable price. The kits transform your bike from stock to Street Cruiser, to Bagger or a Full Dresser.
Made from high-temp, low-profile resin, and matt and oriented-strand fiberglass of a minimum ¼” thickness, the durable bolt-on kits are functional and versatile. Designed by Old Skool Cycle Werks’s owner, Henry T. Chriss, the unique conversion kits have nostalgic appeal with design cues from the classic American automobiles from the 1940s and 50s, complete with a rumble trunk option (Harley-Davidson kit). Though originally designed for Harley-Davidson, the kits are available for Victory and Honda, and eventually other platforms, with each having its own exclusive look.
Old Skool Cycle Werks has several versions of the PhatBack™ body kit for Harley-Davidson Touring models that include: OSCW’s flagship product, the PhatBack™, basic conversion kit; PhatBack RT™, kit with a rumble trunk; PhatBack RTB™, kit with rumble trunk and integrated hard bags (all one piece); PhatBack STY™, kit without the boat tail; Phatillac™, traditional style bagger with OSCW’s design cues from an old Cadillac and more kits in the design stage.
The kit can be installed in less than two hours, with no frame modification. Remove fender, bags and brackets to slide the kit on. The body kit rests on the side frame rails, is pressure fit to the frame, and bolts on under the seat with two rubber grommets. No vibration issues. The kit is easily removed in two minutes for enhanced access to rear mechanicals.
The Harley-Davidson kit will fit model years 2000 – 2007 with stock headers and standard length pipes up to 5.5” in diameter. Riders should enter/exit steep driveways on an angle for front to back clearance. If you’re an aggressive rider, trimming 1” from the rear bottom valence gives you an extra 4 to 6” lean angle on either side.
Other Old Skool Cycle Werks’s products are the SlipStreme™, a café style removable fairing with electronics; PhatBags™, detachable, top-opening hard bags; SlingBlade™, 4.5” extended radius front fender. Products in the design stage include: the PhatBox™, a touring box with integrated passenger backrest; and the TailGater™, a pull-behind trailer with a cooler and separate battery management system.
