Well another summer has come and gone. For some of us that means we need to dig out our gloves with fingers (sorry not trying to rub it in), and for others it means that soon it will be time to put the bike away for a while and break out the winter toys. For those who do need to put their bikes away for the winter, here are a few tips to winterize your motorcycle to ensure it's ready to go when you are next spring.

One of my favorite things about this time of year is that the Toy Runs are starting. Nothing will make you feel better than participating in a toy run on your motorcycle with hundreds of other generous bikers. There are tens of thousands of kids out there who will not know the excitement of opening a new toy this Holiday Season without a little help from others. And who better to help than the motorcycle community, one of the most giving groups around. There are a variety of reasons why these children need our help; some come from poverty strickened families, some have no family at all, and others are spending their Holiday in the hospital, and for many of them it is one of many Holidays they will spend in the hospital.

Yes these are tough times for many of us, but it doesn't take much to bring a smile to the face of these kids. Nothing beats the excitement on a child's face when hundreds of leather-clad bikers show up with piles of toys! I have participated in many Toy Runs, and the enjoyment never wears off.

Right now is the absolute best time to take advantage of advertising on CycleFish. As the summer ends most advertising options targeted toward motorcyclists decline - distribution of local publications decrease and there are fewer trade shows and events to set up booths, etc - even though your need to advertise continues. However usage of the CycleFish website continues all year round, and actually tends to increase by as much as 30% to 50% during the winter months when people can't ride and still want to keep in touch with the motorcycle community.
