Choke should lock in place with a slight clockwise turn of the knob

No problem g. I should of made that a little clearer.

TheX, I've tried that, but it still slides in.

If the mounting nut is tight then; it's time for a new cable

    Krum,

Very common problem... Where the choke knob mounts to the bracket there is a nut on the back. When you tighten that knob it crushes an o-ring applying tension to the shaft, which is what holds it in the desired position. Just snug that nut up and you should be fine.

If you can't tighten it, yo may need to take it apart and replace the 0-ring...you can go to ACE Hardware and buy one for 17 cents or go to Harley and spent a few bucks

Yup, mounting nut like others said. Have had the same thing happen to me. Don't have that problem with my S&S. No cable.

+1 here on replace cable if mounting nut is tight learned the hard way .. trying to tighten the nut too much ..
